Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q:Why just 18 names for each ad?

    A:For this fist test, we want to make sure that the names are readable on television. We’ve made 5 seconds at the end of each ad available to display your names and give people a chance to see them all. More than 18 would require more time taken away from the ad content itself or a much smaller font making the names less readable on television.

  2. Q:Are you going to do this again?

    A:This is a test. If it goes well, we’re going to expand to more ads, more sponsors, and more markets.

  3. Q:Why is this U.S. Only?

    A:For this first test, we’re only airing in two cities, Boston and San Francisco. If this test goes well, we’ll work to expand to other geographies.

  4. Q:How many times will the ads air?

    A:about 20,000 times!!!

  5. Q:Why are you doing TV?

    A:Because, with your help, we can and we think it’s important to at least try out all of the available avenues for getting the word out about Firefox.
